A Possible Fix For EA Origin Message “We’re sorry, but we’re having some technical difficulties. Please try again later.”
TL:DR Instead of connecting to your regular Wi-Fi Internet, maybe try logging into Origin using a different internet source, e.g. your mobile phone’s hotspot or your friend’s internet. It worked for me. Make sure to check the ‘Keep me signed in’ box when logging in, so that you can log in again when you are using your own Internet.
The other day I decided to change the username of my EA Origin account because I felt like it was a suitable time for a gamertag change hahaha.
Anyway, I opened up Origin, went to my profile and clicked on Edit My Profile. It brought me to the internet browser and it opened up my profile details on EA.com. I tried out some unique names and soon after, I decided on a new one.
Cool. I did some other things after that and came back to Origin a few hours later. Unfortunately, Origin logged me out, saying my session expired or whatever. I keyed in my email and password, but unfortunately the following message kept popping out:
“We’re sorry, but we’re having some technical difficulties. Please try again later.”
Huh. Then I tried logging in via internet browser on EA.com. Strangely enough, when I keyed in the correct email and password, I couldn’t log into my account but no error messages appeared either. When I keyed in the wrong password, a prompt saying ‘a wrong password was entered’ came out.
I decided to get help from EA Support. I was able to get into a LIve Chat session very quickly (kudos, EA) but it was not of much help. The EA Support person could log into my account but not me. He suggested I reboot my PC with certain settings (Clean Boot) but I still could not log into my Origin account.
Then I Googled the error message. Quickly enough, I found out that it may has some problem with my IP address where EA thought my account may have been breached from my IP address (which is of course, not the case).
An easy and quick solution is to log into Origin using a different internet source. So I used my phone’s mobile hotspot function to connect my laptop to Origin and voila, it works!
After I switched my internet connection to my home internet, my Origin stayed logged in. Now I can log into my Origin via my home internet with no problem.
